Jason is a shareholder at JPC International Tax Advisors (JPCI) and has over 23 years of international tax experience. Prior to JPCI, Jason was a member of Coopers & Lybrand’s tax practice from 1995 through 1998, when he became a member of KPMG’s international tax practice. During his 11-year tenure at KPMG, Jason worked in the offices of McLean, VA, Miami, FL, Charlotte, NC, and Tampa, FL, advising U.S. and foreign multinationals across multiple industries on expansion, financing, reorganizations, operations, repatriations, and dispositions.

Jason represents a wide range of clients, including manufacturers, distributors, real estate developers, service providers, investment funds, e-commerce businesses, high-net-worth individuals, other CPA firms, and law firms (e.g., under Kovel arrangements). He assists his multinational clients with their transactional and organizational planning and U.S. domestic and international tax compliance to help minimize their worldwide effective tax rates, exposure to U.S. tax penalties, and other potential non-tax costs and issues.

His experience includes advising clients in the following areas: accounting for related-party transactions; organizational structuring and alternative forms of doing business; mergers and acquisitions; outbound and inbound asset and stock transfers; permanent establishment and other treaty issues; financing alternatives and thin capitalization rules; tax-efficient supply chain alternatives; intellectual property tax planning; export tax incentives; anti-deferral rules; repatriation alternatives; foreign tax credit planning; foreign currency gains/losses; withholding and reporting; foreign investment in U.S. real property; branch profits tax and branch level interest tax; foreign assignments; individual expatriation and immigration tax planning; voluntary disclosures and other corrected historical income tax filings and Foreign Bank Account Reporting; and IRS and state controversy.
